Overview
- System: 25MW / 100MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
- Description: ~30% design process phase — focused on safe, standards-driven system design and documentation.
- Deliverables: CAD layout, ETAP one-line/component layout, and studies (cable thermal + arc-flash / electrical safety analyses).
My Role
- Created the CAD drawing and physical/component layout.
- Laid out components and system representation in ETAP.
- Performed ETAP studies including cable thermal checks and electrical safety analyses (e.g., arc-flash).
Standards & Safety
Design Decisions
- Selected eco-friendly transformer oil to reduce environmental impact in the event of leaks.
- Oversized cables to improve thermal margin and reduce overheating risk.
- Reviewed and compared spec sheets to select key components (transformers, capacitors, fuses, batteries, inverters).
